Rainy Day

Hi there. This is my first weblog. I am not an internet savvy or such... Just want to give it a shot. Hopefully I remember to update this blog regularly....yeah, right... I hope this is not just for today.
I will write mostly in English, because I want to practice this language. Sometime, I'll express myself in Bahasa Indonesia, my native language. Or other languages that I try to learn :)

I am Nirmala Trisna, from Bali, Indonesia, currently live in Atlanta, GA, USA. I am a graduate student at Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, funded by Fulbright scholarship to pursue my Master degree in economics. I am happily married to the love of my life, Abdes Prestaka, for six years. I am also a mother of Attarilan Getar Wangsa Prestaka, my great wonderful 4-year (all mothers would say that their children are the greatest, right?!?!). I'll talk about myself sometime in the future.

I named this blog "The Beauty of Life" because I believe that this life is in fact so so so beautiful. I am a moslem, converted since six years ago. I am not a really religious person, but I believe that human must do good things and believe in doing so can bring you good in life. It's not easy to be a good person.... great dedicated wife, wonderful mom... But I have the intention to do it.
Life is not always sweet.... yet, that's the beauty. There're ups and downs, sweet and bitter. I try to view one circumstances in different perspective, so I would be able to wake up and live this life in good manner.
He...he...he... sounds like I am a philosophist...ergh... or philosopher? :(

Thanks to Ivan, today is a rainy day. I watched NBC all morning, Al the weather man is in Mobile, AL, to report on Hurricane Ivan. It's a disaster in Alabama, Florida, and even in the Midwest, I saw there was a huge terrible flood. I read Comcast news, felt so sad that some people might lose their homes and belongings. There was one religious comment, said that you always wanted to see God's hand and work, now you see, though it's a terrible one. *I'm sure that was not the exact quote. That's all that I can remember*

I heard the tivi all morning...yeah, using my ear, not my eyes, coz the tv is in my bedroom... while eating ABC noodle cup seafood flavor (yumm...Indonesian product!) On TV, there were interviews with the casts of "Will and Grace", "Dr. Quinn the medinice woman" Jane Seymour...remember her? Also news about Martha Stewart who wanted to serve her 5months jail ASAP, also about the missing Lori Hacking (Utah) whose body hasn't been found yet (she's a beautiful brilliant woman, young and pregnant, killed by his husband...yikes!)

OK, have to get back to the real life. Prepare lunch, read the assigned articles for today's class... Later at 2pm, with Abdes, we'll go to Getar's school, pick him up, then go to the groceries. After that, I'll go to North Spring station, get to MARTA to downtown Atlanta. I have class from 4.30 to 7pm...economics of state and local public sectors.

Sampai nanti! Have a wonderful day!
