I read a good article on Kompas newspaper (Kristiadi, J. Paradoks Demokrasi Popularitas, Kompas, Sept. 23, 2008, p. 1). It was about how horrific the politic situation is in Indonesia. This kind of politic and instant image management of politicians will drain Indonesia into darker and worse condition. Like John Mayer said in his song, 'it is hard to change the system, when we're standing in the distance'. Well, it doesn't mean that I have the ambition to be in the system... No way, José. Suddenly I remember those people that have been chosen by the party to be CALEG or Calon Legislatif, or people to be in the pool of legislature election. Sadly and frankly saying, most of them are instantly processed to be politicians. They were chosen because the political parties have to fulfill certain numbers of people, that have to consist a certain percentage of women.
I'd like quote what Mr. Kristiadi had quoted in his article. It was taken from Time Magazine, Septembe 12, 2008 edition. It is perfect to portray my Indonesia.
'The country has all the ingredients for success: a stable democracy, a wealth of natural resources and a large consumer market. But Indonesia is not keeping pace with Asia's booming economies.'
Y'all know why...
