- At Guess? shop, Kuta, Abdes and I went for window shopping. Apparently, he found one Tee that was originally tagged Rp 396K, discounted at half price. Surely, it was a bargain. We confirmed to the shop attendant and she said that the Tee is discounted from that tagged price. At the cashier, interestingly, the POS computer stated that the Tee has original price Rp 496K (more or less, I forgot the exact figure). Hey, as a customer, surely we don't have access to POS and definitely we are informed by the price tag. Both, the cashier and shop attendant, didn't convey any apology when they told us the price difference. They just assumed that we would cancel the purchase and did not think that their system made failure. I thought, should I complain to these girls and tried to get them apologize? It's small stuff though. But I reckoned these girls, looked like underpaid staffs (sorry Guess?) should learn something. I didn't view any shop manager around. After complaining a bit, we cancelled our shopping. As I walked away from the cashier, one of the girls apologized, "Maaf ya, bu!" Geez...if this happened in the U.S., where customer is really the King or Queen, surely we will pay the price as tagged, not as in the POS computer.
-At Carrefour Sunset Road Bali, few days ago, as we went for weekly groceries shopping, I wanted to have cash back (using my BCA debit card). I've done this several times at my previous shopping trips. So, there I was, at the cashier, saying politely in Bahasa Indonesia, I'd like to have cash back of Rp500K". You know what, the cashier (it was a male, trainee cashier, no name tag) looked at me and said,"Ma'am, if you'd like to have cash back, I suggest you go to the ATM downstairs." Hellowww.... I asked for cash back! I tried to calmly respond, but I'm sure I sounded agitated,"If I go to ATM, it is NOT cash back!!!" Well, he didn't respond, went to ask his colleague, and for sure, I did get my cash back.
-In preparing for an MC job, I usually have to attend briefings. The client hands me rundown, program review, etc. In my last MC job, I was a bit pissed off as I was told to come twice to the venue, quite far from home, with no points of meeting. No papers, no details. The client's organizer again wanted me to come for the third time. Whaaaat??? You're wasting my time...and my gasoline!!!! With all due respect, I came all the way down there, with a purpose to obtain details on the event. Thankfully, a friend, who hired me, successfully did the talk when I was away, that I shouldn't come again. Please, do respect people's time.
So, those three events happened in just one week. I tried to learn my lessons; to react calmly to other people's behavior, and to treat other people respectfully, even for little things, because how little an event is, it will stay deep within.

Kok ada international standard training for their employees, gitu loh?!?!? Permen jadi kembalian? Kadang masih terjadi. Kasian ya... :)
he..he..endonesaah gitu loh bu :)...trainingnya masih kurang maklum kucuran duitnya kurang...pokoke brand international kalo dah sampe indo...dijamin going local dech..huahahahah (Well gak smuanya sih..yang high international brand pasti lebih ngikut standar..).
Eh tapi kalo ke toko2 tsb sebagai bule..pasti perlakuannya beda...gimana kalo sekali2 pake topeng ala bule..huahahahaha..mungkin service topnotchnya yang keluar.
