Let's hang out...

Lately, I have visited several after-hour hang out places in Singapore, Jakarta and Bali. The part that I particularly fancy from those visits are the up beat music. I always go with my hubby and friend(s). Never alone, ever... (yup, not once in my life, never!)

I also had fun exploring the people who come in as couples, groups, never alone. Everyone have booze. Everyone seem to unleash their hidden dance skill. Interesting view. Some wear regular clothing. Some women wear incredibly skimpy skirt and showed off the model-type legs (+), or could not hide the bulky boobs and butts (-).

Cigarette smoke is the thing that I hate the most. Once I am at home, the smoke smell remains. Only in Singapore, those who want to smoke has to step out and do it outdoor. That happened to our close friend who took us to Clarke Quay area, he just could not stop the urge to smoke :) and therefore had to get out of the building.

There are numerous people who live this lifestyle as their profession. I am not going to question whether it is a matter of self-motivated decision, desperation or just no other options. There are DJs, VJs, bands, dancers, models, hostesses, waiters, bartenders, venue manager, representatives of beverage companies, brand promoters, security guys, and several informal occupations. I know several people who work in this field, simply because they love it. They just love the work environment, love the work hazard.

I, eventually, felt pity for the girls who work as bar dancers, or models (as so they called themselves, even they are not always doing real model work). Walk or dance on bar table or small stage, where a group of guys cannot take their eyes off those girls (body or body parts). I can see from their facial expression, on and off stage, they love to be admired for their physics. Long legs, thin tummy, lean body. What would their fathers think about their daughters do such performance? What if their fathers are among the guests, how would they feel? (hey, today is Father's Day, that's why I said this).

I don't have any daughters. Not planning to have one in the future (just daughter-in-laws). But I can feel how my father would react if I am on stage just showing off my body, not my brain.

It is modern age, though. Family has different values. So, what the heck... Let's hang out. Make sure no family members are on stage showing off provocative moves in skimpy clothes!
