It came from the innocent mind of my son. He is almost 5. He asked the question when we were reading a book about planets and the universe (it was HIS choice to read this kind of book).
"Can the earth be broken? Will people die?"
I could not find an immediate answer to that.
"Hmm... yes, the earth might be broken if we do not take care of it. And sure, people will die one day." That was my simple answer at that time.
Again he said,"If all people die, then the earth will be gone."
Another "hmm" from my lips.
"People will die as Mommy said. But there will be babies, too, who will grow up and live on the earth."
He just stared at the book. I don't know what else were on his mind. I did not discuss about the concept of 'kiamat' or the doom day as our religion believes. Not now. Maybe in a year or so.
