Maid oh Maid!

We have been soooo busy lately arranging schedule of our lives, as we have no maid since a month ago. Well, in six months, we had three different maids hired from a local agent. All were terrible. Yup, I guess now we totally believe that these maid agencies have their dirty business where they arranged to have those maids employed in one household only for no longer than two months period. At first, I was (well, my hubby was too) naively [wanted] to believe that the agent lady had good deed to help us. After three maids recruited from her, we knew that there is a conspiracy to benefit the agent only. The first maid went home during Eid and never came back (though she promised to). The second one said her husband had a traffic accident and followed by the death of her younger brother (or whoever she said...) The last maid was the most annoying one, she lied to us saying it's her second employment in Bali and only had been here for short period after Jakarta. Eventually, she left the house for afternoon shopping, massage by herself and managed to be home by foot. In addition, she acted so rude to my Mom, Queen of the House!!! We kicked her out after several events which I don't want to explain further.

Ever since, we have been trying to search for a maid by ourselves, passively though, as we don't have the time to visit villages around Bali. I've been calling almost all of my female friends, asking them to get an extra maid for me. We've been asking employees of a restaurant near our office, to get her friends who are unemployed to be a maid. I put my yahoo!messenger status as "URGENT, need maid!" We were so desperate that we even want to hijack a wandering maid at a mall!!!

A friend of mine, a man, weirdly said, "Lebih gampang cari istri daripada cari pembantu!" (it is easier to find a wife than a maid!). Damn.... It is our consequence as working parents to have a maid at home to keep the house tidy and mostly to do the laundry. We're willing to pay good salary if we found a maid in the near future. Up to now, it is our unaccomplished mission to search for a maid. Perhaps this weekend, we're going to villages to recruit one to work for us. Wish us luck!
